Safeguarding

At GPP we are fully committed to the wellbeing and safety of our children and staff.  We pride ourselves on ensuring the children are at the centre of decisions, learning and developments across the curriculum and personal and social growth too.

We ensure we have polices and procedures in place to promote and actively teach children about keeping themselves safe and can provide pastoral support offering bespoke interventions to promote healthy lifestyles and outlooks.

Positive mental health is also important to us and we recognise how easy it is to slip towards a negative outlook – we look out to try and support at the earliest opportunity and when we are unable to meet the needs of the child we can refer to the Young Minds Matters team for addition al support.

Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility which is why we ensure are families are kept informed and we regularly share safeguarding updates and tips with them in our newsletters, or invite them in for a coffee and a chat and maybe signpost to our Early Help team for support within the home.

We frequently audit our practises, share information and seek advice with the Gloucestershire Safeguarding Children’s Partnership, we join our thinking and expertise with local practitioners, groups and organisations within our locality to ensure we have a better understanding contextually.

We ensure our training is rigorous and ongoing for staff, governors and volunteers. New members of our team have in-depth training and support.  All our staff are trained in Safeguarding, Child Exploitation, Prevent, On-Line Safety, Abuse including FGM, Trauma and then some staff specialise further.

We have Designated Safeguarding Leads who have non-teaching roles so we are available to put your child first, please contact any school to speak with them.
